கொடு வாய் இரும்பின் மடி தலை புலம்ப,

பொதி இரை கதுவிய போழ் வாய் வாளை

நீர் நணிப் பிரம்பின் நடுங்கு நிழல் வெரூஉம்

நீத்துடை நெடுங் கயம் தீப் பட மலர்ந்த

கடவுள் ஒண் பூ அடைதல் ஓம்பி,                      290

 

உறை கால் மாறிய ஓங்கு உயர் நனந் தலை

அகல் இரு வானத்துக் குறை வில் ஏய்ப்ப,

அரக்கு இதழ்க் குவளையொடு நீலம் நீடி,

முரண் பூ மலிந்த முது நீர்ப் பொய்கை,

குறுநர் இட்ட கூம்பு விடு பன்மலர்

 

These verses of பெரும்பாணாற்றுப்படை speak of devotees offering Lotus flowers, profusely grown in the pond to the Gods.
